Assistance in the villa

A guardian and housekeeper who live in the villa are present 24 hours a day, always available to help guests.

Cleaning arrangements

Guests can request extra linen changes and a private maid for washing and ironing.

Breakfast

A rich buffet breakfast is served in the main room of the villa and on the terrace in summer. Cakes, fresh fruit, local cooked meats and cheese, and good coffee are served with a smile to start the day well.

Cuisine

Typical local dishes, accompanied by an excellent selection of wines, are prepared imaginatively by the chef in the historical kitchen, where wood-fired ovens go hand in hand with modern conveniences. Menus for those with food intolerances and celiac disease are prepared on request.

Lunch and Dinner

For special evenings or to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays, lunches or dinners can be booked, cooked by a chef who is specialised in national, international, or typical Neapolitan cuisine.

The Rooms

Among the most exclusive places on the Sorrento Peninsula, the historical 18th century residence of Villa Murat offers hospitality and courtesy in a refined and comfortable atmosphere. Although it does not have air conditioning, the particular location of the villa on the extreme tip of the Annunziata promontory means it is constantly cooled by a pleasant natural breeze all day.

The rooms have a discreet and original charm, are stylishly decorated for an old-world atmosphere, and have a marvellous view over Capri. The bathrooms, which are also in the same style, are outside the rooms except in the ground floor suite, to respect the villa's historical architectural plans.

Particularly noteworthy is the "Murat suite," where the King of Naples, Joachim Murat, stayed in 1808 during the French fighting to recapture Capri, and which today still has the original decoration, frescoes and terracotta flooring.

Everything is designed for the traveller who is attentive and sensitive to the inestimable charm of the wonders of nature and the views surrounding the villa, able to capture the essence, uniqueness and integrity of a place where an important piece of history has been written and … enjoy even the smallest detail.

The Garden and Swimming Pool

Morning at the villa begins with taking a deep breath while facing the sea and the island of Capri, then going for a relaxing walk in the garden with its flowering plants, sun's greeting and birdsong, accompanied by the sounds and perfumes of nature.

In summer it is the perfect place to relax after a day of touring or work: a dip in the swimming pool, and the English lawn with sunbeds, hammocks and wrought iron benches in a real open air lounge in the shade of particularly beautiful and prized centuries old trees all help guests to relax fully.

A private park is available for guests, with little pathways to walk along and find particularly beautiful panoramic views, and with small areas to stop and relax while immersed in the peace of nature, reading or gazing out to the horizon.

Here, time really seems to stand still and each person chooses his own pace, accompanied and soothed by the staff's attention, which is dedicated entirely to the guests.

The Terrace/Solarium

On the Sun Terrace you can be completely bathed in sunlight and cast your gaze on the splendid panoramic view from Mount Vesuvius over the whole Bay of Naples to the islands of Ischia and Capri and to the lovely Marina della Lobra, which is extraordinarily lovely also at sunset and in the evenings.
