Solemn and enchanting, the first floor of Villa Murat - The abode overlooking Capri, is the heart of this historical building in Massa Lubrense. On this floor one finds the most glorious and spacious terraces of the villa, with a breath-taking view over the entire Gulf of Naples and the Island of Capri.
Each room is steeped in history: the three bedrooms, the two comfortable bathrooms, one can alternate between the two very intimate and cosy rooms and three living area’s with period furnishings. All the area’s have windows or balconies which give a sense of being suspended above the sea.
The ‘suite’ has been conserved intact and in fact one supposes that this is where Gioacchino Murat slept in 1808. Between these frescoed walls, English Commander Hudson Lowe agreed to surrender the Island of Capri to Murat.
On will find the most beautiful and spacious villa terrace on this floor.
The kitchen is built using typical glazed ceramics from the 19th century, primarily in azzure blue and decorated with charming motifs typical of the Sorrentine Peninsula. The period wood fireplaces leave an unforgettable sensation of stepping back in time. The kitchen has been adapted to include all modern fittings.
